My brief was to design 10 fictitious “Italian” uniforms in total, 4 rank and file, 5 officers and 1 Duke’s or high ranking officer’s uniform. All based on the Napoleonic style. The uniforms must look as though they have just come through a time portal to look and feel real, so they could stand up to any up close inpspection. All uniforms should not be based on any particular regiment, for example: – La Guard Imperial or the Coldstream Guards. However, Green was the main colour that was wanted for the uniforms. I decided to use authentic materials, as this would give a greater impact and feel on the actors.
